Themed Entertainment with Dining, Recipes, Classic Music and Romance in Your Own Home
"Let me control the atmosphere and the food and I can set a tone for love to flourish." This is a quote from a man that was part of an opening crew of a very famous hotel in Dallas, Texas. He was right in so many ways that it stuck with me for many years. "95% of all food served in restaurants can be prepared at home. People go out to be entertained." And so this bothered me. It is so easy to entertain at home. With a little example from the art of story telling, each home is a unique restaurant in its own right. A theme restaurant, whether it is an Italian, Indian, Thai, Steakhouse, etc., all have a décor of items from their themed cuisine. Food for Love adds digital technology to this in a simplistic way of creating an intimate dining experience from around the world.
Having been a part of opening 30 different restaurants, nightclubs and hotels, most having different themes and cuisines, I look and wonder "what is it that people are coming for?" There are many different Four Star Steak House chains across the country and on any given night, people from one city will swear that the one they like is the best in the country. But what is it REALLY that makes the event at each restaurant memorable? A family member of mine is in sales and I see how each and every successful salesman is unique in his delivery and how they take control of their audience, controlling every aspect of the meeting with a client to "lead the horse to water" and get them to sign on the bottom line. The same occurs at a restaurant. The General Manager, Maitre d', waiter or whomever is successful if they can read their audience and know how to play off of what they read, expecting 3-4 different come back lines for what ever option the customer may ask or say.
The Internet is a tool filled with almost unlimited information. I have traveled around the world and have found ways of getting back into kitchens and speaking with the chefs. I have gone to the local deli and bought wine, cheese, fruit and bread to take off and explore places where guided tours will not take people. I believe that if you take five minutes or less to read each story, per each evening event, and prepare these simple and easy accessible menus, your own personal interpretation will be heart-felt and appreciated because it is from your heart that you care and it shows to your viewing audience, be it 1 or 20.
Food for Love gives examples of how to control the events of dining at your very own home. The 37 shows designed by myself are examples of story telling and how to prepare for the guest(s) in your home, giving yourself the control of not only atmosphere (music and lighting) and cuisine, but also a calm presence of yourself to show that you care enough to research and share your thoughtfulness with a special someone or someones.
